ICECROSS CHANNEL CHALLENGE Guernsey


At the invitation of Indoor Cricket Guernsey, ICE is pleased to announce that we are proud to invite an England Invitation Squad to undertake the inaugural CROSS CHANNEL CHALLENGE against Indoor Cricket Guernsey from 5 - 7 March 2010.

The Challenge will take place in both the Men's and U19 Boy's categories. 

The schedule for the event is as follows:

5 March 2010 - 12h25 - Fly from Bristol to Guernsey

                      14h00 - Transfer to 4* Hotel next to arena - Accommodation for both
                                     nights is on a bed and breakfast basis

                      18h00 - 2 x Test Matches - one in each category

                      20h30 - Formal sit down dinner

6 March 2010 - Morning at leisure

                      13h00 - 2 x Test Matches - one in each category

                      17h00 - 2 x Test Matches - one in each category

                      20h00 - Buffet Dinner and trophy presentation ceremony

7 March 2010 - Morning at leisure

                      12h35 - Fly from Guernsey to Bristol

Cost of Cross Channel Challenge including flights, England Invitation kit, breakfast on both days and two evening meals will be a maximum of £300.00.

The cost of the flights is £90.00 provided the tickets are confirmed by 5pm on 9 March 2009. Confirmations after this time will be subject to additional charges.

The team kit will consist of the following items:

2 x Polo Shirts
1 x Hoody
1 x Formal tracksuit trousers
2 x Sublimated match shirts
1 x Playing trousers
1 x Cricket bag

A deposit of £20.00 per player or official is to be paid no later that 5pm on 9 December 2009.

All accommodation and evening meals will be sponsored by Indoor Cricket Guernsey.

The England Tour Manager will be Neeta Patel, and the England squad will consist of:

10 players per team
1 Coach per team
1 Physio per team
1 Squad Doctor
3 x Parents 

Due to the shortage of time to both pay the deposit and order the kit for the event, the England Invitation teams for the Cross Channel Challenge will be selected on an invitation basis as there is no time to undertake a full trial process. The teams will comprise players and officials that took part in the 2009 Indoor Cricket World Cup. U16 Boy's players are welcome to put their names down for possible selection in the U19 Boy's side.   

All players and officials wishing to be selected in an England Invitation team in the Cross Channel Challenge need to register their interest by email to Neeta Patel no later that 12 noon on Monday, 7 December 2009.

All those selected will be notified by 9am on 8 December 2009, and will be required to pay their deposit on 9 December 2009, with the balance of £280.00 due on 22 January 2010.
